Once you’re over the threshold, you notice the fact that this cabin seems to be the only one of the four lodges to have a subterranean basement. It’s nothing remarkable, just walls plastered with nature posters, knot diagrams, maps of local landmarks, and star charts. The air is thick and warm. There are a few books around about survival, astronomy, ecology and hunting. Boots are lined up in a small cubby by the door. You find the Lodge DeWitte flag draped as a curtain to the basement, displaying the green axe.
Director Xeno said the Axe means Focus. “To use an axe you gotta have a grind stone. Stay on ya grind. That’s how you stay sharp!”
He then asked for no campers to try using an axe on campgrounds.
Seems like a double standard… but whatevs…
